GREAT VALUE : Black & Decker 3 Cups Uncooked Yields 6 Cups Cooked, Rice Cooker

This is a 6 cup rice cooker...right? On page five under the heading "cooking rice" the manual reads ..."This cooker can cook up to 1 1/2 measures of rice and yield a maximum of about 3 cups of cooked rice". This little statement will leave you racking your brain when you compare it to page 7 which indicates that to yield 5 1/2 cups of cooked rice you should use 3 rice meaures (each measure is 3/4 cup) and fill the water up to the 3 cup mark. I had to call customer service to find out which is correct. The answer is that the guide on page 7 of the manual is correct. The statement on page 5 (five) is simply incorrect according to the customer service rep. I ignored page 5 and put in 3 full measures of rice and i can verify that it yielded just over 5 cups of white rice.

One other note...The rice measure has to be filled to the brim to be a full "measure" of rice. Ignore the very pronounced ring of plastic just below the rim. It is just another confusing issue with this product.
